Canadian Anti-spam

Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) has had a long and hard road to maturity and enforcement. Suffering multiple restarts over a decade of trying, and three years of intense lobbying to try and water down the legislation’s enforcement powers or carve out exclusions for every type of business that didn’t want to comply. Round after round of FUD being published about the end of email marketing in Canada have been tossed against the wall in these efforts.

Several summaries of the final regulations are already starting to circulate, I will be posting a more details summary shortly as I want to properly review them instead of being “First” to the table with a review of the law.
