EMAIL ALERT: China blocks Hotmail and more…

The Guardian is reporting that the Chinese government has taken steps to block access to Hotmail, Window’s live mail and many other applications (one can guess Yahoo is also included) as the 20th anniversary of Tiananmen Square approaches.

Marketers may want to identify these segment of their lists and hold off on mailing subscribers so inboxs are not clogged when (if?) the ban is lifted and to prevent unnecessary bounces that may effect the hygiene of your list.

This looks to be targeted towards a number of information sharing services including Blogger, YouTube and Twitter.

AS we gather more information we will be sure to share it with you.
